Dear members,

I'd like to share with you, some wine notes from Portuguese wines, made by food paring expert, Mr Laurent Chaniac.
This event took place at Eleven restaurant in Lisbon ( http://www.restauranteleven.com/ ), last year, i hope it content might help to drive tasty pairings.


2007, PV, Douro
Nose: Closed nose, not very expressive, subtle on ripe but light aromatics.
Palate: Very light rounded fruits, light acidity, light structure.
Finish: Juicy with tropical notes, short.
Light green color notes.


2005, Gouvyas reserve Bago de Touriga
Gold colour.
Nose: Citrus, honey butter and brioche. Vibrant an expressive nose.
Palate: Subtle oak (French like), followed by elegant citrus on minerals.
Finish: Good citrus on the ripe side with delicate minerals and peach on finish. Oak is very well integrated in the ripe citrus and minerals.
Stunning wine, complex.

Wow, Restaurant Eleven looks pretty cool! I admit, I haven't had too many Portuguese wines, need to get out of my "local box" more...

In fact, Margie, this restaurant website show in a proper realistic way, the place and the surroundings.

Portuguese wines, are becoming more easy to find, and still showing ancestral roots of it making and soil qualities. You can find more information about them at http://www.viniportugal.pt/
